I could not believe it. Just 2 minutes from the end of the game and Netherlands gets a penalty shot right into the goal - giving them the game!
Perhaps not everyone is a soccer fan, but I was rooting loud and proud for the Mexican team in the FIFA World Cup. My loyalties are divided though... I support the up and coming U.S. team as well as the Swiss (in honor of all my swiss spiritual children!)
As I got up at 9 this morning to watch the match I looked around at my kids sporting their soccer shirts and rooting for their team. So often I find myself swamped with the work of the ministry and with the launch of my new books recently, I have been found (more than once) stuck in my room, flowing from my spirit.
Today though I was reminded that to be an effective spiritual leader, I need to be more than someone that can preach fire from the pulpit. I also need to be a wife that can cheer alongside her husband and a mother that can laugh with her kids.
The Lord created us in spirit, soul and body and we can forget that sometimes - especially as spiritual leaders. However to be a GOOD leader means being successful in ministry, business and in your social life.
How else will we become a city on a hill? We must become an example to this world in every area of our lives. That is really my challenge to all spiritual leaders out there today. Take time to invest in your marriage, because without it, you have no legs to stand on. Make an effort to pour into your children - your first disciples!
Be the kind of leader that is a success in every area of your life! Whether that is around the dinner table, on a road trip, or willing your team to win!
Love and Blessings,
